Default lifetime of a temporary address; you can extend it, but its total lifetime cannot exceed 24 hours.
Keep the data needed to receive mail
within clear limits
This policy explains what we process for temporary inboxes and logged-in forwarding, how long we retain it, and how you can delete or correct account information.
Maximum retention period for forwarded email web archives; they are deleted automatically afterward.
The temporary inbox token is stored in your current browser so the same address can be restored after a refresh.
We do not sell email addresses, message content, or usage data, and we do not serve ads based on email content.
What information we process
When you use a temporary inbox, we process a random address, access token, expiry time, incoming headers, and message body so the email can be shown in the browser holding the token. You do not need to provide your name, real email address, or create an account.
When you use forwarding, we process the destination email address used for login and delivery, the aliases you create, alias status, and forwarding records. If you enable two-factor authentication, we store a protected representation of your authenticator secret and its enabled status; we do not read anything else in your authenticator app.
Retention periods and processing limits
| Data category | Purpose | Typical retention | Limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Temporary address and token | Create, restore, and extend an inbox | From 3 hours, up to 24 hours | Expires or becomes invalid when you change address |
| Temporary email content | Reading on the web | For the life of the inbox | Attachments are not retained in temporary inboxes |
| Forwarded email archive | Search, retry, and attachment downloads | Up to 30 days | Attachments of 50–100 MB are not retained on the site |
| Security and access logs | Abuse prevention and incident investigation | A reasonable short-term window | Access is restricted and logs are cleared periodically |
| Account email and aliases | Authentication and email forwarding | While the account is in use | Contact support to request deletion |
Email content and attachments
Email content is processed automatically only as needed to provide receiving or forwarding features. We do not scan message bodies to build advertising profiles or share content with data brokers; however, spam filtering, security checks, and troubleshooting may require automated analysis of necessary technical characteristics.
Temporary inboxes do not retain attachments. Forwarding aliases can forward and temporarily store attachments up to 50 MB. Attachments from 50–100 MB are delivered to the destination mailbox with the message but no web copy is kept. Messages over 100 MB in total are rejected.
Sharing, international transfers, and service providers
We share the minimum data with service providers only when necessary for hosting, network delivery, security protection, or legal compliance, and constrain their processing through access controls and contractual obligations. Email delivery itself passes through the sender, internet mail servers, and your destination email provider, each of which follows its own privacy rules.
Internet services may use infrastructure in different regions. We apply technical and organizational safeguards proportionate to the risks, but cannot guarantee end-to-end encryption across every stage of email transmission.
Your choices and rights
Temporary inbox users can stop processing by changing their address or waiting for it to expire, and can clear local browser data. Forwarding users can pause or delete aliases, sign out of the current device, and request access to, correction of, or deletion of account-related data by emailing support@mytempbox.com.
After receiving a request, we may need to verify that the requester controls the destination email address to prevent someone else from deleting your information. Some security logs may be retained for a limited period to prevent fraud or meet legal obligations; during that period, their use will be restricted.
Children, changes, and contact
This service is not specifically intended for minors and should not be used to transmit sensitive information about children. If you believe someone has submitted this type of information improperly, please contact us immediately.
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top and provide notice where appropriate. Send privacy questions, rights requests, and complaints to support@mytempbox.com; we will reply within a reasonable period.
